Image Consulting and Life Coaching

As founder of “Success Appeal”, she’s helped hundreds of professional men and women cultivate the inner confidence and outer sense of style needed to achieve their personal and professional goals. Whether she’s helping you ace your next job interview or improve your relationship with your significant other, her unique inside-out approach moves you to where you want to go.

A Life Coach and Image Consultant with over two decades of experience, Karen is educated in both the school of academia and the schools of the experiential. She graduated from the University of Vermont as a credentialed teacher with a B.S. degree in education and counseling, after which she taught in both elementary and middle schools in northern Vermont for several years prior to moving to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Karen’s interest in personal growth and transformation have led her to experience a variety of educational and spiritual disciplines including The Institute for Human Abilities (formerly More University), Landmark Education. She has also studied with teachers and spiritual leaders such as Adyashanti, Prem Rawat, David Deida and several western teachers of tantra such as Margot Anand and Charles and Caroline Muir.

Breast Cancer Navigation

It was Karen’s two-year journey with breast cancer that gave her the education of a lifetime. This life-threatening challenge, which included numerous diagnostics, radiation treatments, four surgeries including  a bi-lateral mastectomy followed by reconstruction, deepened Karen’s empathy and understanding of what it takes to move through a major life challenge with strength, courage, dignity and style.

Now in radiant health and grateful to have her breast cancer journey behind her, Karen is an outspoken advocate for breast cancer awareness. Committed to no one going through a health crisis alone, Karen helps women navigate their challenging journey with breast cancer. She served on the advisory board for the Sutter North Bay Women’s Health Center in Santa Rosa, CA — an organization committed to offering state of the art health and diagnostic services to Sonoma County women from all demographics.

Speaking Engagements

A certified Speaking Circles® Facilitator, educator and Keynote Speaker, Karen delivers down-to-earth, powerful and humor-filled presentations on topics such as: “You Might Be an Expert, But Do You Look LIke One?”, “Complete Confidence from the Bedroom to the Boardroom”, and “Men,Sex&Money; A Conversation for Women”. Her wisdom, compassion and evocative communication style inspire audiences to transform adversity and life challenges into personal and professional success.

Karen lives in Northern California with her husband and two cats. When she’s not volunteering for hospice or leading Speaking Circles®, she enjoys playing her flute, skiing, traveling and reveling in the company of good friends.
